Originated from Madagascar, and popular in tropical countries, this fruit
tree is very ornamental with its bright green double leaves. Dense,
spectacular masses of fruits cling to the trunk and branches. Fruits are
pale yellow, the size of a gooseberry, crispy, with very sour juice.
Fruits can be eaten fresh (with some salt), or used to make a delicious
bright red jelly. They are also pickled, or candied, or used in refreshing
drinks. |
